The start of 2010 offers the residents of Bowdoinham two very different opportunities for civic engagement by casting votes:

one to fill an unexpired term on the Board of Selectmen and another to select photos that you believe best represent Bowdoinham and what you love about Bowdoinham.

The Board of Selectmen voted to hold a Special Municipal Election on February 2, 2010

to fill the vacancy on the Select Board made by the resignation of Steve Ciembroniewicz. Nomination papers are now available at the town office and must be filed with the Town Clerk by 6 pm on Wednesday, December 23.

Did you know.....That this year’s municipal budget (minus the school and county) is only $2,408 more than the 2005 budget?

In 2005, the municipal budget was $1,439,227 and this year (2010) the budget is $1,441,635 – proof that the town is keeping expenses low while at the same time addressing some major infrastructure needs – replacing Carding Machine Road Bridge, Batchelder Bridge, Shingleman’s Creek culvert, as well as paving the Brown’s Point Road, Ridge Road, and South Pleasant Street!

Did you know that here in Bowdoinham there are now activities for seniors every Tuesday and Thursday?

Thanks to Brooke Cox, Recreation Director and many volunteers, the Village Seniors have become a very active group. There are luncheons, concerts, trips, activities, card games, a men’s coffee group, and much more available to all seniors.
