NEW SIGHTS AND FREEBIES IN CELEBRATE BOWDOINHAM PARADE
Everybody Loves A Parade!
September is a time of transition—school starting, leaves changing, and the weather beginning to cool. What better cure-all than a parade?
This year, in addition to having the pleasure of watching the parade, you can also receive some wonderful freebies—to be redeemed later in the day—by simply being a spectator. Be on the parade route and a clown might hand you a token for a free t-shirt, free rides on the mechanical bull, credit at the Silent Auction or the Bowdoinham Library Book Sale, or a free ducky to be used in the KenDucky Derby.
All great parades need clowns, floats, bands, colorguards, horses and riders, and Kora Krazy Kops. You can see all this—and so much more—at 10:00am on September 11, 2010 along the parade route in Bowdoinham. The parade goes from the Fire Station (located on Route 136), south to Main Street (Route 125), down Main Street to the center of the village, turning north onto River Road for a short while, and then up Ridge Road to the conclusion of the parade at the Bowdoinham Community School on Cemetery Road. (Parade route map below.)
Every parade has a grand marshal—Celebrate Bowdoinham 2010 has many! The Town is honoring those who have served our country by making veterans the grand marshals. Come show your support for our veterans! If you are a veteran and wish to participate in the parade, call Ann Davis 319-7572.
