Illustrated Presentation by Dr. David Richards of the Margaret Chase Smith Library

Victorian “Tea and Biscuits” will be served beginning at 1PM

Dr. David Richards of the Margaret Chase Smith Library will talk about one of the leading resorts of the late nineteenth century. More than just the source of world-famous water still popular today, Poland Spring was also part family homestead, colonial inn, social mecca, pastoral farm, natural Eden, recreational playground, and cultured city. Dr. Richards will survey the historical significance of each of these cultural landscapes in his illustrated presentation. Sponsored by the Loose Ladies Book Club, Bowdoinham Public Library and Advisory Committee on Aging. Copies of the book, if desired, are available at the library. Call 666-8405 to reserve your copy.
