Richard A. Ferrier Scholarship

The Maine Community Foundation's Richard Ferrier Scholarship offers financial assistance to Bowdoinham residents between the ages of 13 and 18 (as of April 1, 2017), to pursue their artistic, academic, athletic and vocational or life's passion outside of the traditional school environment. Eligible applicants must be residents of Bowdoinham who clearly demonstrate a need for financial assistance. Preference is for applicants who have resided in Bowdoinham for at least one year. Awards are not retroactive. 

Last year the committee awarded $10,915 to 20 students who used the funds to participate in activities including sports camps, pre-college programs, specialized dance instruction, and Olympic training teams.

Since 2004, there have been 193awards totaling $119,508! 

The application deadline is April 1, 2017. Paper applications are available at the Bowdoinham town office, the Bowdoinham Public Library and on the Maine Community Foundation website The application will not be available as an on-line application for 2017.
