A Celebration of Bowdoinham Veterans will be the theme of Bowdoinham Historical Society’s November show.  There will be a display in the Town Hall highlighting veterans from all wars.  The show will be open on Friday, November 9th from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday, November 10th from 9am to 4pm.

After a year of planning, design, collaborating, construction, planting and cultivating, Bowdoinham’s new and improved Veterans’ Park is ready to be officially dedicated. Sunday, November 11th at 1pm at the Town Hall.  Our new Park is to be dedicated to all of Bowdoinham’s Veterans, both men and women, throughout the years. The GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Veterans Group will be represented by the Richmond American Legion Post, the Knights of Pythias will be there as they were in 1909, local Veterans, our Legislative representatives, as well as Mt. Ararat’s Fife and Drum Corps and our Community School Chorus.   A reception will follow the ceremony.

Then at 3pm on Sunday, Merrymeeting Arts Center is presenting a Bowdoinham USO Show with Kim Kalesti and troupe.  This talented group of performers will offer a show of singing, dancing, music and poetry commemorating those who have served.

Everyone is invited, especially our Veterans and their families. This is a great opportunity to learn about and recognize how these wonderful individuals have served our town.
