BOWDOINHAM WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES JUNE 18, 2009

MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT:

Don Oakes, Chairman Arthur McLean, Superintendent
Brant Miller, Treasurer
Harvey Freeman, Clerk
Gordon Johnson, Trustee

The meeting was brought to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairman Oakes.

VOTED: On motion of Miller, seconded by Johnson to approve the minutes of the meeting held
on May 28, 2009 as written. So voted.

Trustee Johnson reported that Portland Water District had recently been audited because of their receipt of stimulus funds. It was agreed that the Board should make sure that the District adheres to all the rules regarding the distribution of their share of the stimulus funds.

Discussion continued on possible leaks in the system. Art reported that Maine Rural Water was here earlier this month to do some leak detection. No leaks were found.

The matter of whether or not service valves throughout the system should be exercised periodically was discussed.

Art will read meters at the end of the month.

The matter of Bowdoinham Water District’s need of a policy regarding information disclosures was discussed.

It was recommended that monthly copies of the warrant not be distributed since all the Trustees review and initial the original copy for filing.
