03/02/2020: Spring is slowly approaching and with it comes time for clean-up. Limbs, leaves and debris from what was a relatively mild winter are being gathered and stacked for disposal. Many people choose to compost or chip the winter remnants while others opt for burning. If you are among the latter then here is a bit of background information and few reminders on the process.
02/28/2020: Attached are the Maine Department of Transportation posted road regulations. Enforcement is done by the Maine State Police 207-624-7076
02/21/2020: The Public Restrooms at Mailly Waterfront Park have been repaired and re-opened.
02/19/2020: Work continues to bring fiber optic internet to over 200 homes in the most rural portions of Bowdoinham that currently do not have access to high speed broadband. The project will entail 25 miles of fiber optic broadband cable to be installed on utility poles on portions of the following roads:
02/11/2020: It is official, as part of the state wide celebration of Maine’s 200th year of statehood the Bowdoinham Historical Society is hosting the “Happy Birthday Maine Variety Show” on March 28th. This is going to be an evening of fun and entertainment for everyone in town. We are now looking for acts to fill the variety show. These acts are open to all ages and in true variety show fashion they can be of any type; musical, dance, poetry, skits, comedy or any other talent you want to share. We are limiting the whole show to two hours so acts should be no more than 10 minutes in length.
02/11/2020: Richard Ferrier Scholarship Richard Ferrier Scholarship offers financial assistance to Bowdoinham residents between the ages of 13 and 18 as of April 1, 2020, to pursue their artistic, academic, athletic and vocational or life’s passion outside of the traditional school environment. The application deadline is April 1st. Paper applications are available at the Bowdoinham Public Library, and at the Maine Community Foundation website, www.mainecf.org to download and print.
01/29/2020: Friends of Baxter State Park invites current Maine high school sophomores and juniors to submit an application to participate in the 12th annual Maine Youth Wilderness Leadership Program. The program includes a nine-day wilderness experience in Baxter State Park, scheduled for early August. The application deadline for the program is February 8, 2020.
