08/13/2020: Town of Bowdoinham
Select Board Meeting
August 13 at 5:30 p.m.
08/11/2020: At the Bowdoinham Select Board meeting on August 11, 2020, the Select Board voted to accept Town Manager Thomas Woodin’s resignation. Pursuant to his employment contract, Tom has provided 45 days notice to the Board, and will work closely with the Board and Town staff to ensure a smooth transition. The Select Board wishes Tom well in his future endeavors.
08/11/2020: The library is open with limited hours – Tuesdays 10-2, Fridays 2-6 and Saturday 10-2.
08/05/2020: Labbe completed the installation of the 18” culvert yesterday. They are starting on the southern(old landfill road) arch today, but encountered some high ledge in the road bed on the northern side. They will have to hammer out the ledge in order to install the footings.
07/30/2020: The Town of Bowdoinham now offers a “Tax Club Plan” that allows property owners to pay their annual property tax bill in monthly installments without incurring interest. This plan was first authorized by a vote at the town meeting in June 2014. To be eligible to participate in this plan, the property owner must be current with their property taxes, must enroll no later than August 14, 2020 and must abide by the requirements of the plan.
07/30/2020: The Town is currently seeking nomi- nations for Citizen of the Year. The criteria for this award are as follows: • The Citizen of the Year award recipient shall be an outstanding individual recognized for their impact on the lives of Bowdoinham citizens, a special individual who shows dedication and spirit beyond what is considered regular duty. • The following characteristics will be considered: present activities, previous activities, charitable/philanthropic efforts, improvement in the quality of life for Bowdoinham residents, and commitment to the community.
07/21/2020:
The Bowdoinham Public Works Department will be replacing several long culverts on Dingley Road on Thursday and Friday (7/23 & 7/24) of this week. Due to the length of the culverts the road will have to be closed to through traffic between the hours of 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. There are access roads on each side of the construction so people will be able to get in and out unrestricted. Thank you for your patience.
