Wild Foraging Walk with Cooking Demo & Tasting
Join artist, forager, and cook, Rachel Alexandrou, in walking the land at Dandelion Spring Farm to find and forage wild edibles. Late May brings us a variety of lush spring greens, fragrant flowers to create syrups or sodas and tender roots that provide a one-two punch of food and medicine. The walk will last approximately 1.5 hours followed by 30 minutes cooking and tasting some of our finds. Expect to learn how to identify, harvest and add wild edible plants to your cooking repertoire.
Rachel Alexandrou is an artist and forager who has been exploring the world of wild edible plants for the past 20 years. Rachel leads plant walks and wild feasts all around Maine. She has a B.S. in Sustainable Horticulture from the University of Maine and a 400 hour certificate in community herbalism from the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine.
