Abagadasset River View

This portion of public land gives you stunning views of the head of tide on the Abagadasset. A simple trail leads from the gate on Carding Machine Road, to the Abagadasset; allowing you to explore the woods and enjoy numerous sightings of wildflowers and wildlife. The trail past the old landfill has some fallen trees, but it is easily navigated all the way towards the Abagadasset. From there, all the land to the south is public and can be hiked using the northern landfill access road as a main road of entry and exit.  It is important to stay on the path as much of the land to the left and right of you as you pass the landfill is privately owned, but once you are deeper into the forest, the land opens up and is public.

Be sure to visit all of our town’s public lands for the true Bowdoinham experience!
