Open Farm Day & Art Trail
Open Farm Day & Art Trail takes place on the fourth Sunday in July on the State of Maine's Open Farm Day. The day begins with farm and studio tours around Bowdoinham. Then at 3pm the celebration will continue at Mailly Waterfront Park for a barbecue featuring fresh foods from local farms and live music. Come see why Down East Magazine named Bowdoinham one of the "Best Places to Live in Maine"!

The Bowdoinham Historical Society will also have Merrymeeting Hall, Jellerson School & Merrymeeting Bay Museum and the Meeting House open for tours.
Merrymeeting Trailblazers and Maine Farmland Trust are sponsoring the Explore Merrymeeting Bay Bike Tours, visiting the farms and exploring the scenes of Open Farm Day. The ride will include three led bike ride options for a range of abilities and interests. All three led rides will leave from Mailly Waterfront Park:
- 10:00am - 35 Mile Ride for Intermediate or Advance Riders
- 10:15am - 24 Mile Ride for Beginner or Intermediate Riders
- 10:30am - 14 Mile Ride for Beginners or Intermediate Riders Interested in Learning about Farmland Protection
- Or Create Your Own Ride! Merrymeeting Trailblazers will have suggested routes available to you if would like help planning your adventure!
At 3pm the celebration will continue at Mailly Waterfront Park for a barbeque featuring fresh foods from local farms and live music by the Intergalactic Yurt Band. The Barbeque will be catered by The Texas Barbeque Company with members of Village Lodge # 26 AF & AM the local Masonic Lodge in Bowdoinham. Bowdoinham Historical Society will also be joining the barbeque with their famous strawberry shortcake!
