Facility/Room
Town Hall

John Marshall is a 9-time Emmy Award-winning television producer from Maine. He’s the author of the critically-acclaimed Random House memoir “Wide-Open World” and the creator of the hugely-popular Instagram page Sunset Selfies that features his cardboard cut outs against the setting sun. His artwork has been featured on publications worldwide from Rolling Stone Brazil to The Times of India to The Kelly Clarkson Show on national television. Beyond all of this, John’s true passion is his work with orphaned children around the world. As a storyteller, filmmaker, and fundraiser, he has helped raise more than two million dollars for orphan projects since 2014. His most ambitious project yet is a global initiative called Teach Her (www.teachher.org), a service organization providing college education to orphaned girls. Advocating for some of the most vulnerable members of our human family, John hopes to involve many like-minded supporters to lift these girls up and change the future one child at a time.

In John’s engaging talk, he will share a bit about his journey, weaving stories from volunteering, to creating his cardboard art, to dedicating his life to orphaned children. Full of good humor and amazing creativity, John is a natural storyteller, engaging for both young and old audiences.
