07/03/2019: All summer long the kids can earn prizes by spending time reading. The theme is “A Universe of Stories.” Special programming will be offered on Tuesday mornings: July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. From music with Susan Brown, to a stargazing planetarium show, to learning about bird watching- you won’t want to miss the Tuesday morning fun. All ages are welcomed and all programs are free.
07/03/2019: The library is pleased and proud to announce that they now have a Maine State Park pass to loan to library patrons! The pass covers day use for all passengers in a vehicle heading to Maine’s parks, historic sites and public lands anywhere in the state. Loan periods are Tuesday to Friday and Friday to Tuesday. So grab the pass, get outside and explore our state!
07/03/2019: The Town is currently seeking nominations for Citizen of the Year. This award is presented to the selected nominee at the annual Celebrate Bowdoinham event in September and the criteria for this award are as follows:
07/03/2019: The Town of Bowdoinham now offers a “Tax Club Plan” that allows property owners to pay their annual property tax bill in monthly installments without incurring interest. This plan was first authorized by a vote at the Town Meeting in June of 2014 and is re-authorized each year.
07/03/2019: The Clothes Closet will be switching over to fall/winter clothes beginning in August. Winter coats will be available in September. The Clothes Closet is open on Wednesdays from 3:30-6pm. Donations of clean clothes in good condition can be dropped off during those hours. Anyone is welcome to “shop” at the Clothes Closet - it is open to anyone regardless of need. The clothes are free, but donations are welcome and help with expenses. The Clothes Closet is located at the Nazarene Church (in the house behind the church).
07/02/2019: Celebrate Bowdoinham is right around the corner and there are several opportunities for you to get involved, promote your business and help support this community event. Be a Vendor – You can sell your goods/services or just have informational booth to promote your business. Participant Applications and Instructions are now available and are due by August 30th.
06/28/2019: The Select Board is asking residents to provide input on the next town manager. What attributes do you believe the next manager should have? If you have any thoughts, please attend the July 9th Select Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Coombs Municipal Building to provide comments or email any Select Board member:
