Open Farm and Studio Day – Sunday, July 26, 2026 

Mark your calendar for the last Sunday in July: Open Farm & Studio Day is back! Join us Sunday, July 26 our annual celebration of Bowdoinham’s vibrant farming and creative community. Spend the day touring local farms and studios, picking up fresh flowers and farm goods, watching live demos, and meeting the makers behind the work. Then close out the day along the Cathance River with local food and live music at the annual Food Pantry benefit BBQ at Mailly Waterfront Park!

Plan your visit:
9 AM – 4 PM: Visit farms and studios for live demos, fresh food, tours, artisan goods, farm store treats, pop-up markets, and more.

4 PM – 7 PM: Join us at Mailly Waterfront Park (1 Main St.) for a Food Pantry Benefit BBQ (4–6 PM) with fresh local food and live music by Rough Sawn (4–7 PM) — playing acoustic folk, Americana, and classic country tunes.

On the day, follow the red signs through town to discover the best of Bowdoinham on beautiful Merrymeeting Bay!

Farms, Studios & Venues

1. Campo di Fiori 212 Fisher Road 
9 AM - 3 PM Campo di Fiori is a nursery specializing in wildflowers and ornamental grasses, ideally suited for the art of naturalistic planting design.

2. Six River Farm 52 Center Point Road 
9 AM - 3 PM Our self-serve farm stand will be open and fully stocked with organic vegetables and herbs as well as honey from Bees Knees and flowers from Annandale Flower Co.

3. Downing Arts 25 Main Street 
9 AM - 4 PM Nicholas Downing of Downing Arts will be set up outside of the Longbranch School doing live blacksmithing demonstrations, as well as selling wares ranging from jewelry to household items to artisan tools.

4. Artistic Endeavors 9 Main Street
9 AM - 4 PM Visit the gallery and studio to see Shibori wall hangings, scarves, clothing, and pillows. In the studio, experience the magic of indigo dyeing.

5. Merrymeeting Arts Center 9 Main Street, Cathance Place 
9 AM - 3 PM Come see the Community Weaving Project, watch wheel demonstrations in the Pottery Studio and the gallery will be open.

6. Apple Creek Farm 538 Millay Road 
10 AM - 3 PM Meet the animals (including our livestock guardian dogs). Pop-up farm store will be open with eggs, beef, chicken, and specialty products; with entire inventory of cashmere goat hides and sheepskins on sale at 15% off. Hosting a Makers Market with art, food, and unique products from an array of Maine makers.

7. Cathance River Gallery 18 Main Street 
10 AM - 4 PM Fine art and crafts, wood burl carvings, and custom made furniture.

8. Stonecipher Farm 1186 River Road 
1 PM - 3 PM We will explore the aspects of our "no-till" production that make our farm landscape unique. The farm store will be open featuring a variety of fresh veggies, dairy products and eggs for purchase.

9. Maine Farmland Trust 
3 PM - 6 PM Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide nonprofit organization that protects farmland, supports farmers, and advances the future of farming. Tabling at the waterfront during the event.

10. Bowdoinham Food Pantry 9 Main Street 
4 PM - 6 PM Bowdoinham Food Pantry is pleased to host another barbecue supper as part of Open Farm & Studio Day, highlighting some of the area's fantastic local produce. Enjoy pulled pork and chicken, or grilled mushrooms with a range of fresh sides made by our board members and volunteers. An important fundraiser for the food pantry, and a way of connecting with the wider community.

11. Mailly Waterfront Park 1 Main Street 
BBQ: 4 PM - 6 PM | Music: 4 PM - 7 PM
Enjoy a fitting close to the day by the beautiful Cathance River. Feast upon Bowdoinham Food Pantry’s benefit BBQ while listening to live music by Rough Sawn at the gazebo.
