Pavilion
Mission Statement
To create a pavilion that supports local economic development and community needs. The pavilion will be aesthetically pleasing, environmentally sustainable, and multi-functional. A cost-effective project that will also generate revenue for the town through rental fees and support business development through a new sales venue for artists and farmers.
Project Background
In 2019 the Town approved a Master Plan designed by Richardson & Associates with Baker Design Consultants which called for a pavilion in the center of the new park. In 2024 the Town Meeting amended the CMP TIF investment program to include $500,000 for the pavilion. In April of 2025 the Town entered into a Wholesale Markets and Facility Design program with USDA to solicit architectural sketches including floor plans, 3D renderings, and building square foot cost study. This service is typically 10-20% of the project costs, but this program is free to the Town.
To date CDAC has tabled at 2025 Celebrate Bowdoinham to solicit feedback from the public. They also hosted stakeholder meetings with farmers in November of 2025, artists in January of 2026, and attended an Age Friendly luncheon in February and hosted a stakeholder meeting with non-profit and other business users in February 2026. A preliminary design informed by these meetings to date is attached.
